Circa Leather Wrapped Spine Notebook
I have loved the concept of the Circa notebooks for a while now. I started with a Compact, with different covers and several sizes of disks. Upgraded to a leather cover that I thought would be final but didn't get this one with the covered spine. I was disappointed because the cover kept coming off the disks while in my book bag. I've now upgraded to the spine covered version and am much more impressed. The book (now a Junior size) feels more substantial and less like to fall apart in my hands. The cover stays on, but the functionality of the Circa notebook is still there. Even better. I would like to see some sort of closure tab, and my pen keeps falling out of my loop. Not real drawbacks to me, just a slight annoyance I'll find a way around. Actually the book stays shut pretty well on its own.

not as handy as simpler books
well made, nice looking, fine leather, but the covered spine does prevent one from folding the front cover all the way around. For me, the foldover design works better in a circa notebook.

I bought this to use with the daily planner inserts. The black binding is not leather, which seems like a good idea because of all the bending. The leather seems to be good quality. The pen loop does sometimes get in the way.

Overall an excellent product with the usual Levenger quality. I have the letter size notebook. My one beef with the product is the pen loop on the back cover. When the notebook is opened flat the loop rests under the paper and makes a noticeable lump in the paper stack even with a full complement of paper in place. The loop is stiff enough that it can't really be folded back under the notebook and if you slip it out from under the paper it gets in the way of right handers.
My solution has been to flip the paper and the back cover becomes the front with the pen loop now on the left. Only problem is that the discreet Levenger logo that was on the bottom of the back cover is now upside down and on the top of my front cover.
Still a really good product overall.
